Follett on a roll
Kay Follett regained her bowling crown with a score of 211 in the ladies’ high single during league action for the 50-Plus Bowling League at the Old Mill Lanes in Bay Roberts on Jan. 27.
Next clostest to Follett was a newcomer to the leader board as Maxine Bradbury took second spot with a 174, while Marg Bradbury rounded out the top three with a 170.
On the men’s side, Wilf Spurrell failed to break the 200 mark, but took top spot nonetheless with a 199.
Ed Brown took second with a 189, while Don Snow followed closesly behind with a 187.
Kay Follett was tops again in the ladies’ high triple, scoring a 507 to finish with a 30 point lead over her closest competitior.
Marg Bradbury came in second with a 471, while Beatrice Bradbury took third with a 457.
Don Snow grabbed top spot in the men’s high triple with a 510, while Gerald Bradbury amd Ed Brown completed the top three with scores of 485 and 480 respectively.
Spurrell’s team, the Strange Bunch leap frogged Don’s Miracles to grab the pole position in the team standings with 30 points to Miracles 28 points.
The Tailenders were third with 26 points while Bright Lights and the Bubbleheads tied with 24 points.
The Blueberries scored 23 points to round out the team standings
