BUSY! BUSY! BUSY! That’s how Garry Gosse de­scribes the av­er­age busi­ness day at Con­cep­tion Bay Auto & Tire Cen­tre Ltd.

Af­ter man­ag­ing the Til­ton-based op­er­a­tion for 37 years, in 2009 Garry be­came owner/op­er­a­tor, tak­ing over the busi­ness from his brother, Clarence who founded it in 1972.

Start­ing off with a small, one-bay garage, the busi­ness has grown and ex­panded to in­clude six bays and a staff of nine.

Con­cep­tion Bay Auto & Tire Cen­tre Ltd. is cel­e­brat­ing its 40th an­niver­sary this year.

Look­ing back over that time, Garry Gosse said, “we’ve en­joyed pretty good suc­cess over the years — and it keeps on build­ing.

“It’s been a long and steady build­ing process since 1972, but it’s worked out pretty well I think.

“The key to a suc­cess­ful busi­ness like this starts with be­ing pre­pared to put in long hours of work. Be­sides that, we try and treat our cus­tomers right, give them fast re­li­able ser­vice and

In 2001, Con­cep­tion Bay Auto & Tire Cen­tre Ltd. marked its 29th year in busi­ness with the open­ing of a new, mod­ern 400-square-foot show­room and cus­tomer wait­ing area.

It’s a place where cus­tomers can sit back, re­lax, watch TV, have a cof­fee and a friendly chat while wait­ing to have their tires changed or other ser­vice work car­ried out on their ve­hi­cle.

Chad Gosse, who is man­ager of the op­er­a­tion, can be found be­hind the ser­vice counter ready to pro­vide that “qual­ity ser­vice” to his cus­tomers.

The idea of adding such a fa­cil­ity to the suc­cess­ful op­er­a­tion came from cus­tomers, who wished to see such a set-up in place.
