May 16 • Com­pleted a traf­fic stop on Vet­er­ans Me­mo­rial High­way near Car­bon­ear as a re­sult of a traf­fic com­plaint. A 31 year old male from Salmon Cove was ar­rested af­ter a search of the ve­hi­cle re­vealed a small quan­tity of what is be­lieved to be mar­i­juana. The driver was charged with pos­ses­sion of the drug, breach of pro­ba­tion, and driv­ing a ve­hi­cle with no valid in­sur­ance. He is due in court July 17.

• Re­sponded to a break and en­ter at Avalon Home Im­prove­ment in Cupids. Some­time overnight the fence was en­tered and a quan­tity of shin­gles and plas­tic fence were taken.

May 17 • Re­sponded to a sin­gle ve­hi­cle mo­tor ve­hi­cle ac­ci­dent on Vet­er­ans Me­mo­rial near Shearstown. The ve­hi­cle col­lided with a moose. No one in the ve­hi­cle was in­jured and mi­nor dam­ages to the ve­hi­cle. Wildlife of­fi­cers were called to the scene and re­moved the moose as it was killed in the col­li­sion.

May 18 • Re­sponded to a re­port of theft by the Town of Har­bour Grace. A sign placed on Lady Lake Road in­di­cat­ing no camp­ing, ATVS, or bikes were aloud in an area had been stolen overnight.

May 19 • Re­sponded to a com­plaint of a cabin fire in the Beaver Pond area of Roaches Line. It turned out to be a small dog house on fire next to the cabin. The mat­ter is not sus­pi­cious.

May 20 • Re­sponded to a traf­fic com­plaint on Roaches Line. A 23 year old North River male was charged un­der the High­way Traf­fic Act for op­er­at­ing a ve­hi­cle with no valid driv­ers li­cence.

• Re­sponded to a mo­tor ve­hi­cle col­li­sion be­tween an ATV and a mo­tor ve­hi­cle in Clarke’s Beach. The ATV brakes failed and the driver col­lided with the side of a mo­tor ve­hi­cle, knock­ing the op­er­a­tor off the ATV. The driver, a 16 year old male, re­ceived mi­nor in­juries and was taken to the hospi­tal by an am­bu­lance. The mat­ter re­mains un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

May 21 • In­ves­ti­gat­ing the theft of a fifth wheel trailer from Hodge­wa­ter Line. The theft oc­curred be­tween Satur­day and this
