Lo­cals grad­u­ate from UNB

Five res­i­dents of Con­cep­tion Bay North were among the more than 1,300 grad­u­ates at spring cer­e­monies held last month at the Univer­sity of New Brunswick.

UNB cel­e­brated the ac­com­plish­ments of grad­u­ates from across Canada and around the world at its 183rd En­cae­nia on May 16 and 17. En­cae­nia is an aca­demic cer­e­mony.

This year’s four spring grad­u­a­tion cer­e­monies saw 1,080 stu­dents re­ceive bach­e­lor’s de­grees, 216 earn master’s de­grees and 23 achieve the high­est level of aca­demic achieve­ment, the PhD.

Grad­u­ates from in­clude the fol­low­ing:

• Jes­sica Mar­garet Babb, Car­bon­ear — Ju­ris Doc­tor (a pro­fes­sional doc­tor­ate and first pro­fes­sional grad­u­ate de­gree in law);

• Joanne El­iz­a­beth De­laney, Har­bour Grace — Bach­e­lor of Sci­ence, First Class Hon­ours (medic­i­nal chem­istry);

• Sa­man­tha Josephine Mercer, Bay Robert — Bach­e­lor of Sci­ence in En­gi­neer­ing (chem­i­cal en­gi­neer­ing/biomed­i­cal en­gi­neer­ing op­tion);

• Pamela Mar­garet Porter, Bay Roberts — Bach­e­lor of Busi­ness Ad­min­is­tra­tion, Hon­ours (mar­ket­ing); and

• Chad Nel­son Shelby Ef­ford, Port De Grave — Bach­e­lor of Nurs­ing
