Pre­de­ceased by hus­band: James; par­ents: James and Mil­dred Sut­ton; par­ents-in-law: James and Florence Doo­ley. Left to mourn, one daugh­ter: Paula (Brian) Swain, Vic­to­ria; two sons: Barry (Lori), Vic­to­ria and Randy ( Jen­nifer), Par­adise; five spe­cial grand­chil­dren: Steven (Ash­ley), Paul (Cassie), Adam, Brit­tany and Bray­dan; very spe­cial friend: Guy Bishop, Broad Cove; five broth­ers: Den­nis (Ruby) Sut­ton, Salmon Cove, War­rick (Sue) Sut­ton, Tony (Bar­bara) Sut­ton and Jim (Ruth) Sut­ton, all of Vic­to­ria and Ray (Nel­lie) Sut­ton, Labrador City; three sis­ters: Peggy (Don) Gra­ham, Car­bon­ear, Caffie Sut­ton Slade and Norma (Wally) Rose, both of Salmon Cove; broth­ers-in-law: Hartley Slade, Salmon Cove, Leo Doo­ley and Fred (Rose) Doo­ley, both of St. John’s, Larry (Pat­tie) Doo­ley, Mount Carmel, Jerry (Bar­bara) Doo­ley, Mount Pearl and Patrick Doo­ley, New Bed­ford, Mas­sachusetts; sis­ters-in-law: Sue Doo­ley, He­len Price, Bar­bara Doo­ley and Carol (Wayne) Barry, all of St. John’s, Kay (Mel) Troute, Arkansas and Theresa ( James) Gomes, New Bed­ford, Mas­sachusetts; also a large num­ber of other rel­a­tives and friends. Rested at Noel’s Fu­neral Home, Wa­ter Street, Car­bon­ear. Pas­tor Ge­of­frey Ryan con­ducted the fu­neral ser­vice on Thurs­day, July 5 at Bethel Pen­te­costal Church, Vic­to­ria. GILBERT, Cal — Passed peace­fully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hos­pi­tal, St. John’s on Mon­day, July 2, 2012, Cal Gilbert of Vic­to­ria, age 83 years. Pre­de­ceased by par­ents: Wal­ter and Stella Gilbert; broth­ers: Free­man and Neil; sis­ters: Mae, Eileen and Mil­dred. Left to mourn, wife: Joan; one daugh­ter: Krista Gilbert (Ge­of­frey Whalen), St. John’s; one son: Cally (Tina), High­level, AB; two step-grand­chil­dren: Whit­ney and Lexie; one brother: Mur­ley (Car­rie), Fall River, NS; sis­ter-in-law: Gwen Gilbert, Swift Cur­rent; also a large num­ber of other rel­a­tives and friends. PYE, Wesley — Passed peace­fully away at the Cari­bou Me­mo­rial Vet­eran’s Pavil­ion on July 4, 2012, Wesley Pye, aged 87 years, Mer­chant Ma­rine. Leav­ing to mourn son, David (Teresa); grand­sons: Nicholas and Aaron; sis­ter, Jean Brown as well as nieces, neph­ews and other rel­a­tives and friends. At Wesley’s re­quest, cre­ma­tion has taken place. There will be no visi­ta­tion. The fam­ily wishes to thank the staff of the Cari­bou Me­mo­rial Vet­eran’s Pavil­ion for the care and com­pas­sion shown to Wesley dur­ing his stay there.
