Softball revival in Winterton
A Trinity Bay community that was once a hotbed for softball action is attempting to revive the sport, and early efforts are proving positive. Some 100-plus people, including youth and adults, have signed up for the Trinity South Softball League in Winterton. A ceremony to launch the new league last week was both moving and exciting, with “Mr. Softball” Bill Jacobs throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. There was also a tribute to the late Kevin Powers, a softball enthusiast who died tragically in 1975.
