Celebrating Dildo Days

The Town of Dildo kicked off its 32nd annual Dildo Days celebrations last week with numerous activities and events aimed at celebrating the town’s history and heritage. There was a sports day, a fishing contest, casino night and a Dildo Idol competition. The children’s sports day brought out a slew of young children to have their faces painted, toss water balloons and eat hot dogs. The Compass was there to capture all of the excitement of the sports day and all of the talent on display at the folk festival.

Trinity Shore Fiddlers musician Paige White plays the fiddle while director Marina Bonnell (front) accompanies her on the guitar.

It was hard to hid the excitement on Joshua Legge’s face (right), even with all of the tiger face paint, during the potato sack race at the sports day. Here, Legge and Jaylynn Cumby hop towards the finish line.

Five members of the Trinity Shore Fiddlers performed at the Dildo Days Folk Festival. They are (from left) Dillon Brown, Madison Osbourne, Abby Higdon, Paige White and Shauna Brown.

Madison Osbourne sings and strums her way through Saltwater Joys.
