Ques­tions over land pur­chase in Clarke’s Beach

Clarke’s Beach Mayor Betty Moore was rais­ing ques­tions last week about a de­ci­sion by coun­cil to pay $40,000 for a piece of land next to the ceno­taph on the Con­cep­tion Bay High­way. Moore said she was “sur­prised and shocked” by the price, and ques­tioned the process by which the de­ci­sion was made. Coun. Roland An­drews de­fended the deal, say­ing it was a “good value.”
