Jessie Fewer named Miss TrinityConception 2012
Ten young ladies demonstate talent, poise and beauty at annual pageant
Jessie Fewer of Cupids reported to work at Robin’s restaurant in Bay Roberts at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22 with a little more than three hours sleep.
But don’t get the idea this dynamic 16year-old was out gallivanting until the wee hours.
In fact, she was still beaming from being crowned Miss Teen Trinity-Conception 2012-13 during the eighth annual pageant held at S.W. Moores Memorial Stadium in Harbour Grace the night before.
Jessie was also named Miss Teen Friendship, and earned the People’s Choice, which was voted on by audience members.
It was nearly 1 a.m. before Jessie and her family returned to their home on Keating’s Road, still energized from an experience that will transform her young life over the next 12 months, and create memories that will last forever.
A few days later, she was on a plane with nine other fellow students from Ascension Collegiate, travelling to a week-long leadership conference in Saskatchewan.
It sounds like a frantic pace, but nothing she can’t handle.
Jessie held down three part-time jobs during her summer break, is a peer counsellor to students at Amalgamated Academy, and received an award for community involvement in 2011. She’s a talented violinist and actress, and is co-captain of “The Teens of Hope,” a team of some 40 young people that raised some $9,500 during the recent Relay for Life.
