No paving for CB Highway
“Sometimes the best way to make people think is to ask a question.”
Officials with the Town of Bay Roberts do not anticipate the section of the Conception Bay Highway from Sawdust Road to L.T. Stick Drive will be paved before winter sets in.
Since the town has started its current sewer project, the road has been a problem to the thousands of motorists who travel over the road each day.
The road is driveable, but just barely. There are ruts from one end to the other, motorists say.
Although, there are spots of patch paving done, it is in dire need of a permanent upgrade.
The infrastructure upgrade between Sawdust and the turnoff to L.T. Stick Drive is the second phase of a project started almost two years ago.

delays” to the project before the deadline that the Department of Transportation and Works will allow for surface course asphalt on their roads.
“We were originally given every indication that it would (be finished),” he stated.
The deadline generally falls on Oct. 15, but this year, it was extended for another week.
Once that week passed, paving was no longer permitted.
Black said the town hopes to have the road paved “as soon as possible in the spring.”
