Untouchables stay on top
Wilf Spurrell and Gerald Bradbury went toe-to-toe in the men’s high single of the Bay Roberts 50plus Bowling League, with Spurrell coming out on top with a score of 199.
Bradbury finished with a score of 193, while Gerald Snow rounded out the leaderboard with a 172.
On the ladies’ side, Marg Bradbury nearly topped the 200 mark when bowled a 199 to take the top spot. Verna Bowering was in second spot with a score of 176 and Charlotte Frost filled the final spot in the top-3 with a 154.
Gerald Bradbury stormed back in the men’s high triple, breaking the 500 plateau when he registered a score of 509. Spurrell couldn’t catch up with him after only registering 473 points. Snow again come in at the bottom with a score of 464.
In the ladies’ high triple, Marg Bradbury bowled a 473 to come out on top, with Verna Bowering (429) and Kay Follett (396) filling out the top-3.
In the team standings, the Untouchables finished in first with 24 points. The Pointers and Tailenders tied for second with 16 poitns. Next, was the Martians with 13 points, followed by the Stray Aways (12 points) and the Strange Bunch (10 points).
