Un­touch­ables stay on top

Wilf Spurrell and Ger­ald Brad­bury went toe-to-toe in the men’s high sin­gle of the Bay Roberts 50plus Bowl­ing League, with Spurrell coming out on top with a score of 199.

Brad­bury fin­ished with a score of 193, while Ger­ald Snow rounded out the leader­board with a 172.

On the ladies’ side, Marg Brad­bury nearly topped the 200 mark when bowled a 199 to take the top spot. Verna Bow­er­ing was in sec­ond spot with a score of 176 and Char­lotte Frost filled the fi­nal spot in the top-3 with a 154.

Ger­ald Brad­bury stormed back in the men’s high triple, break­ing the 500 plateau when he reg­is­tered a score of 509. Spurrell couldn’t catch up with him af­ter only reg­is­ter­ing 473 points. Snow again come in at the bot­tom with a score of 464.

In the ladies’ high triple, Marg Brad­bury bowled a 473 to come out on top, with Verna Bow­er­ing (429) and Kay Fol­lett (396) fill­ing out the top-3.

In the team stand­ings, the Un­touch­ables fin­ished in first with 24 points. The Point­ers and Tailen­ders tied for sec­ond with 16 poitns. Next, was the Mar­tians with 13 points, fol­lowed by the Stray Aways (12 points) and the Strange Bunch (10 points).
