Volunteer Awards can be made in two categories — individuals 30 years of age or younger who have made outstanding voluntary contributions without reward or gain and youth-led nonprofit organizations that have made a significant contribution for the betterment of others.

Up to eight awards will be presented at the ceremony, which will include performances by local rock bands. Each award recipient will receive a customized electric guitar.

“By celebrating the achievements of young leaders, we hope to inspire others to volunteer and contribute to the future growth and development of their communities and province,” Hutchings said.

“I encourage individuals in all regions of Newfoundland and Labrador to nominate a deserving youth or youth-led organization for these awards.”
