Al­co­hol and drugs af­fects our think­ing, our in­hi­bi­tions, and our be­hav­iour. It is a proven fact that while un­der the in­flu­ence of drugs we can be­come more vi­o­lent, less pa­tient, and change our nor­mal be­hav­iour. What we do or not do, may af­fect the rest of our lives.

You are not your­self when you are un­der the in­flu­ence of mind al­ter­ing sub­stances, such as drugs and al­co­hol, in­clud­ing pre­scrip­tion drugs. This is no de­fense for our ac­tions while un­der the in­flu­ence. Please re­mem­ber, life is pre­cious, drugs of any kind can harm you and oth­ers.

Com­mu­nity polic­ing events

The sec­ond an­nual RCMP Aux­il­iary Cup char­ity hockey game will be held March 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bay Arena in Bay Roberts. The hockey game will sup­port lo­cal char­i­ties, schools, and or­ga­ni­za­tions. It is held in part­ner­ship with the Bay Roberts Spe­cial Events Com­mit­tee and Trin­ity Con­cep­tion Crime Preven­tion.
