Ceebee Stars sending four to 2013 Allan Cup
The Herder Memorial Trophy champion CeeBee Stars will be sending four members of the team to the 2013 Allan Cup, which is set to begin on April 14 in Red Deer, Alta.
Defencemen Mike Dyke and Doug O’Brien, plus forwards Ryan Delaney and Chris Hulit, will be joining the Clarenville Caribous for the AAA national senior hockey tournament.
The Caribous earned the right to represent Newfoundland and Labrador after defeating the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts in the Herder Memorial Trophy finals in 2012.
Dyke, Hulit, Delaney and O’Brien will be joining representatives from the Cataracts — Martin Lapointe, Sam Hounsell, Matt Quinn — as well as the Western Royals — Brett Morrisson — at the tournament.
David Victor, Brandon Roach, Jeremy Kavanagh, Jordon Smith, Blake Gallagher, Ryan Desrosiers, Matt Bragg, Brad Crann, Dustin Russell, Dale Sullivan, Andrew Sweetland, Stephen Oates, Brandon Street, Jason Churchill and Roger Kennedy will be representing the Caribous.
Chad Locke of the Gander Flyers and Luke Gallant of the Cataracts were also asked, but were unable to commit to the tournament.
The Caribous previously won the Allan Cup in 2011.
