A $15,000 grant has been awarded to the Whitbourne Sports and Recreation Committee for upgrades to Sir Robert Bond Park in the town.

The grant will be used to purchase picnic tables, replace a gazebo and upgrade the walking trails located in the park.

The provincial government Community Capital Grant is issued to communities that support recreation, sport or active living pro- grams and to offset the cost of conserving existing recreation facilities.

This location is one of many across the province that will benefit from the grant. Many communitybased organizations, municipalities, schools and recreation commissions have received funding to upgrade their recreation and sport infrastructure through these investments.
