The Compass - - NEWS -

Organizers say there were a record number of participants and visitors at the sixth Spring Hare arts festival in Whiteway on May 3-4. Events were staged at the Whiteway Community Centre. The event began as the Whiteway March Hare in 2008, but the name changed to Spring Hare after a winter event was snowed out, forcing organizers to hold it in the spring. The event featured live musical performances, storytelling, poetry book readings, and visual arts exhibits of paintings, photography, hooked rugs, sculpture and mixed media. Here are some images from this year’s event.
