FA­HEY, Cyril Joseph — Passed peace­fully away at the Health Sciences Cen­tre, St. John’s on Tues­day, June 18, 2013, Cyril Joseph Fa­hey of Car­bon­ear, age 66 years. Pre­de­ceased by par­ents: Ed­ward and Lil­lian. Left to mourn, wife: Rose; two daugh­ters: Cor­rina Fa­hey (Tony), St. John’s and Charlene (Wade) Brad­bury, Up­per Is­land Cove; four grand­chil­dren: De­van, Ben­jamin, Olivia and Nicholas; three broth­ers: Kevin (Marion) and Terry ( Judy), both of Car­bon­ear, Ray­mond, River­head, Har­bour Grace; three sis­ters: Idella McCarthy and Ce­cilia (Keith) Ab­bott, both of Car­bon­ear and Sadie (Gor­don) Nose­wor­thy, On­tario; sis­ters-in-law: Joan (Glen) Clarke and Mary (Gary) Curnew, both of Vic­to­ria, Philom­ena ( John) Par­sons, Har­bour Grace, Jeanette (Brian) Hol­well, Cor­ner Brook, Mar­i­lyn (Gary) Rum­sey, Cham­ber­lains and Lor­raine (Mark) Lily, Par­adise; also a num­ber of nieces, neph­ews and other rel­a­tives and friends. Rested at Noel’s Fu­neral Home, Wa­ter Street, Car­bon­ear. Fr. John Ped­dle con­ducted the fu­neral mass on Fri­day, June 21 from St. Pa­trick’s Ro­man Catholic Church, Car­bon­ear. In­ter­ment took place in St. Pa­trick’s Ro­man Catholic Ceme­tery, Car­bon­ear. Do­na­tions in his mem­ory may be made to a char­ity of one’s choice. OATES, Gwen­dolyn (nee Hor­wood) April 5, 1946 - June 20, 2013 — Passed peace­fully away at the Pal­lia­tive Care Unit at the Car­bon­ear Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal on Thurs­day, June 20, 2013, Gwen Oates, flo­ral de­signer/busi­ness woman of Car­bon­ear. Pre­de­ceased by par­ents: Fred­er­ick and Ta­mar Hor­wood. Left to mourn, hus­band: Carl; broth­ers: Gary (Pauline) Hor­wood and Eric (Cather­ine) Hor­wood; sis­ter-in­law: Bar­bara (Tom) Sul­li­van; nieces: Krista, Kim­ber­ley, Erica, An­drea, Heather; nephew: Shane; and grand­niece: Hai­ley; as well as a large cir­cle of aunts, un­cles and cousins. The fam­ily wishes to ex­press its deep­est thanks to the health pro­fes­sion­als who treated and nursed her through her 16-year med­i­cal or­deal and to all her friends and sur­vivors who faced the jour­ney with her. Pre­de­ceased by par­ents: John G.W. and Ma­bel I. Rorke.
