TWO BIKE GIRLS

The Compass - - FRONT PAGE -

There are signs of summer everywhere these days, and some are more unusual than others. We captured this image on Wednesday, July 3 of two young girls from Spaniard’s Bay making their way toward a popular swimming area. Having to “double-up” on a bike is something that many — regardless of age — can relate to, but having the technical wizardry of a smartphone at your fingertips is a relatively new phenomenon. Here, Kierstin Hiscock uses her phone to send text messages to friends, while Abby Oliver navigates the bike along the street. Kierstin is the 12-year-old daughter of Tammy and Victor Hiscock, while Abby, 13, is the daughter of Tammy and Doug Oliver. Both are students at Holy Redeemer school in Spaniard’s Bay.
