A Canada Day split

East Coast Con­crete has mixed re­sults in Car­bon­ear slo-pitch

On Canada Day Break’s Heat­ing de­feated East Coast Con­crete 10-7 in the sec­ond game of Car­bon­ear Mol­son slo-pitch league at the Car­bon­ear Recre­ation Com­plex.

Kevin Pen­ney led the way for Break’s with three hits, while Roy Flight, Tim Brake and Barry Short had two hits each.

In de­feat, Charl Clarke, Nick Ros­siter, Chad Par­sons, Shan­non Chafe, Tom Har­ris and Tyson Crant had two hits apiece for East Coast.

Sam White tossed the win, while Tom Har­ris and Ger­ard Grif­fin com­bined for the loss.

Ear­lier in the evening, East Coast up­ended Butt’s Esso by a score of 10-8.

Lead­ing the of­fen­sive charge for East Coast was Blair Par­sons, who had four hits, while Nick Ros­siter and Peter Chubs had three hits. Ger­ard Grif­fin chipped in two hits.

For Butt’s, Marty Til­ley and Scott Cleary had two hits each.

Ger­ard Grif­fin toed the rub­ber for the vic­tory, while Sam White was sad­dled with the loss.

On June 27, Break’s nar­rowly de­feated Butt’s by a score of 7-6.

Mat Davis and Tim Brake were the top hit­ters for Break’s, pick­ing up three hits apiece, while Sam White and Jim King had two hits each.

Butt’s were led by Marty Til­ley with three hits.

Sam White tossed the vic­tory, while Gord King suf­fered the loss.
