Break’s Heating on a roll
Picks up three straight wins in Carbonear softball
Butt’s Esso got back in the win column during the second game of the Carbonear Slo-pitch softball league with a 9-4 victory over East Coast Concrete at the Carbonear Recreation Complex on July 8.
Gord King lead the way for the victors with four hits, while John Jacques picked up a trio of hits. Scott Cleary and Paul McCarthy chipped in two hits apiece.
For East Coast, Nick Rossiter paced the offensive attack with three hits, while Chad Parsons, Ryan Dean and Alf Bourne had two hits each.
Scott Cleary pitched the win and Gerard Griffin suffered the loss.
Earlier in the evening, Break’s Heating defeated Butt’s by a score of 5-4.
Mat Davies, Tim Brake, Gary Hiscock and Darrell Parsons had two hits each to lead Break’s. For Butt’s, Gord King had two hits in the loss. Sam White toed the rubber in victory, while Scott Cleary took the loss.
In the first game on July 4, Break’s upended East Coast by a score of 7-4.
Lead the way for Break’s were Mat Davies and Tim Brake, who had two hits apiece.
Blair Parsons lead the way for East Coast with three hits, while Mike Whiteway had two hits.
Sam White picked up the victory, while Tom Harris and Gerard Griffin combined for the loss.
The late game saw Break’s scrape out a 8-7 victory over Butt’s.
Mat Davies, Tim Brake, Sam White and Grant Tobin had three hits apiece for the winners. Kevin Penney, Steven Peach and Craig Traverse chipped in two hits
narrowly each. For Butt’s, John Jacques had three hits in the loss. Sam White pitched Break’s to victory, while Scott Cleary took the loss.
