Butlerville motocross rules and regulations:
GET DIRTY, BUT RIDE SAFE
1. Once you are in the facility, you have to stay. Bikes must be transported in by truck or trailer and are not allowed on first pond road. 2. All bikes must be safe and in fit proper condition. 3. All bikes must have numbers to practice, no exceptions. 4. All riders must sign waivers before entering track. 5. Anyone found using the track when not open will be charged with trespassing and banned from the track. 6. Dogs to be kept on leash at all times. 7. Bikes being ridden to the track or back to the pit area at idle speed only. 8. Riders must adhere to the instructions of track personnel. 9. Riders must enter and exit the track through proper gates. 10. Use of alcohol or controlled substances is prohibited by riders. Suspicion of use will result in immediate ejection. 11. Intentional take-outs, or extremely rough riding will not be tolerated. 12. One direction of travel around the track only. 13. No double riding allowed. 14. Minors using the track must be accompanied by an adult. 15. Spectators must stay out of the fenced track area. 16. Required gear for use of track: Helmet, goggles, gloves, riding boots and pants. No short sleeve jerseys.
Racers turn a corner during a recent intermediate division race at the Riverview Motocross facility in Butlerville, Bay Roberts. Races are held at the track, the only one of its kind in the province since the Bell Island track was abandoned two years ago, twice a month throughout the summer.
