CHILD AND YOUTH CARE WORKER - STARTED SEPTEM­BER 2012

A Child and Youth Care Worker is a spe­cial­ist in fa­cil­i­tat­ing change in chil­dren or ado­les­cents ex­pe­ri­enc­ing a range of so­cial, emo­tional, be­hav­ioral or learn­ing chal­lenges. Keyin’s Child and Youth Care Worker pro­gram de­vel­ops ther­a­peu­tic skills and abil­i­ties in stu­dents, en­abling them to work cre­atively with other pro­fes­sion- als con­cerned with the care and treat­ment of chil­dren and ado­les­cents to ad­dress such chal­lenges. Grad­u­ates are in­volved in all facets of care from as­sess­ment to in­take, goal for­mu­la­tion, pro­gram plan­ning and in­ter­ven­tion. Child and Youth Work­ers fa­cil­i­tate change through coun­sel­ing and a va­ri­ety of treat­ment strate­gies.

88 week pro­gram in­cludes one 4-week work term and one 8-week work term.
