Hant’s Harbour council uncontested

Same faces to sit in council chamber for second term

The Compass - - NEWS -

The residents of the Town of Hant’s Harbour will not have to cast a ballot for the new town council this term.

All seven of the incumbent councillors will reoccupy their seats for the next four years. No one has stepped up to challenge the former council, s o they have all been acclaimed.

Returning councillors are Mayor Donald Green, Deputy Mayor Eric Tuck, Terry Ash, Alan Ash, Rhoda Bailey, Judy King and Holly Smith.

Smith is a former mayor who won a byelection in 2010 when former councillor Terry Tuck stepped away.

It is unknown right now if Green and Tuck will keep their positions for the next term, but with a former municipal leader in the mix, anything could happen.

Town officials expect a council meeting to take place this week to discuss its first duties as a returning council.
