Representatives with Recreation Newfoundland and Labrador want to talk shop in Upper Island Cove.

On Sept. 17 at the Recreation Centre in the community Recreation NL will be holding a workshop designed for the Avalon region.

Starting at 5:30 p.m. participants will be discussing recreational activities that are happening in the region. Recreation NL regional director, Annette Oldford, will be in attendance.

At the event, a “You Can Play Too Inclusion Workshop” will be given. This initiative is designed for individuals seeking to gain a better understanding of inclusive recreation practices.

Directors will learn and receive the necessary tools and resources to help adapt activities for participants based on their needs, plus tips on guiding behaviours in programs and activities.

The sport of boccia will also be introduced at the workshop. It is a fully inclusive sport for all abilities and can be played either recreationally or competitively.
