Soft­ball send-off in Western Bay

It was a per­fect day for soft­ball on Sept. 14 at the Al­bert E. Walsh Me­mo­rial Soft­ball Field in Western Bay. So much so that the North Shore Mi­nor Soft­ball As­so­ci­a­tion held a year-end un­der-12 tour­na­ment fea­tur­ing four teams. It was the home­town Wreck­ers with two teams, the But­lerville Bombers and the Brook Cove Bob­cats (Heart’s De­light-Is­ling­ton). Af­ter an ex­cit­ing day of ac­tion, the team from But­lerville took the ti­tle with a 7-3 vic­tory over North Shore A team. The Com­pass was there for all of the ac­tion.
