Lots to see and do
Audience members will have the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice award during intermission.
Miss Newfoundland and Labrador will also be crowned on Sept. 29.
The gala begins at 7 p.m. and will only consist of one show, unlike previous years where there had been two.
Miss NL committee members said this year’s event may not have a large number of contestants — eight — but they are defi- nitely women of high calibre.
Those competing for Miss Newfoundland and Labrador are Carbonear native Gina Colbourne, Bay Roberts resident Kourtney Lake, St. John’s resident Beverley Earle, Charlotte Gushue of Gander, Chelsea Butler from Conception Bay South, Courtney Woodford of Triton, Erin Everard of Paradise and Melissa Lannon from Labrador City.
Other exciting events
This will be the fifth year for the Agriculture Spelling Bee event.
Students from across the region will have the chance to participate and win prizes on Thursday, Sept. 26.
This year, the ever popular Prince, Princess and Baby Pageants will be held on Saturday afternoon, September 28 starting at 1:30 p.m.
There will also be a talent show on Sat- urday and a teen night on Friday where local entertainment will perform.
And finally the annual Fall Fair parade will begin around 12:00 noon, Saturday, Sept. 28 from St. Francis School in Harbour Grace.
