Step­ping Stones Fam­ily Re­source Cen­tre

The re­source cen­tre in Whit­bourne will host a num­ber of ac­tiv­i­ties for the month of Oc­to­ber. Morn­ing ses­sion runs from 9:30-11:30 a.m., and af­ter­noon ses­sion runs from 1-3 p.m. Ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude ac­tive play, birth walk­ing, tod­dler time, learn­ing time, healthy baby club, and fam­ily dropin play­time. Felt­ing Workshop

Give the Gift of Life Walk

Will take place Oct. 20 in Spa­niard’s Bay. This is a fun, in­spir­ing com­mu­nity fundraiser that calls at­ten­tion to the preven­tion of kid­ney disease and the need for or­gan dona­tion. The lo­cal chap­ter raised the most money for At­lantic Canada in 2012. It is an op­por­tu­nity for pa­tients, trans­plant re­cip­i­ents, or­gan donors, fam­ily, friends, groups and busi­nesses to come to­gether to sup­port those peo­ple with chronic kid­ney disease. Car­bon­ear Le­gion
