Stepping Stones Family Resource Centre
The resource centre in Whitbourne will host a number of activities for the month of October. Morning session runs from 9:30-11:30 a.m., and afternoon session runs from 1-3 p.m. Activities include active play, birth walking, toddler time, learning time, healthy baby club, and family dropin playtime. Dinner and Auction

Give the Gift of Life Walk
Will take place Oct. 20 in Spaniard’s Bay. This is a fun, inspiring community fundraiser that calls attention to the prevention of kidney disease and the need for organ donation. The local chapter raised the most money for Atlantic Canada in 2012. It is an opportunity for patients, transplant recipients, organ donors, family, friends, groups and businesses to come together to support those people with chronic kidney disease. The Conception Harbour Heritage Group is hosting its monthly Sunday afternoon old time country music open mic on Oct. 20 at the Parish Hall next to the Jamie Murphy Memorial at 2 p.m.
