Letters to santa

The Compass - - FRONT PAGE -

It may be the season for pumpkins and trick-or-treating, but it’s also the time of year when we remind young readers about our upcoming Letters to Santa project at The Compass.

Though some of us may not want to admit it, Christmas is just around the corner. So hit the keyboard and start tapping out those adorable letters to the man at the North Pole. It’s been a tradition at The Compass since the day we began publishing 45 years ago, and it’s as popular as ever.

Last year, we published some 350 letters to Santa, and we are hoping for a similar level of interest this year. Our first letter is printed below.

There’s a deadline of Nov. 22 for letters and photos ($6 per letter). Forward by email to Shelleen (semberley@cbncompass.ca) or by mail to The Compass, P.O. Box 760, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1C3. Email letters must include payment by Mastercard or Visa.

Dear Santa, My name is Brooklyn Butt. I’m seven years old. I’ve been extra good this year, don’t you think? This year I would like a double stroller, change table for my dolls and a doll seat for my bike. I will have milk and cookies waiting for you, and carrots for Rudolph and the other reindeer. Please Santa, don’t forget all the other boys and girls all over the world. Oh, and Santa, don’t forget dog bones for Cassius and Molly. Brooklyn Butt, Carbonear
