CNB club has success at Gander event
Collects eight medals at Rebecca Pack Memorial Friendship Skate
The Conception Bay North Skating Club kicked off its season with a road trip to Gander for the Rebecca Pack Memorial Friendship Skate at the Gander Community Centre on Oct. 19-20.
The club sent 11 skaters and two ice dance teams to the annual competition.
CBNSC finished the event with three first place finishes, four second place finishes and a third place finish.
In the pre- juvenile dance, the pair of Andrew Littlejohn and Brianna Russell finished first ahead of their club teammates Ethan Parsons and Julia Keefe. Parsons and Keefe finished second.
However, Littlejohn and Parsons were not finished in the competition. In the prejuvenile men’s division, Parsons finished in first place, while Littlejohn grabbed second spot.
In the senior bronze women’s division, Katie Dawson finished in first place with a score of 21.44.
The juvenile women’s (under-14) division saw two podium finishes for CBNSC skaters. Toni-Lynn Parsons and Maya Petten finished in second and third, respectively.
In the star 5 (under-13) division, Laura Keefe finished in second place.
The club also had five skaters in the star 3 division. They were: Julia Keefe, Brianna Russell, Jaide Russell, Helena Churchill and Emily Dawson.
