CeeBees kick off another sea­son

The Eastlink CeeBee Stars were back in New­found­land Se­nior Hockey League ac­tion Nov. 1-2. The team split the two-game weekend se­ries with the Mount Pearl Blades. On Nov. 1, the team dropped a 5-4 de­ci­sion to the Blades, but bounced back at the S.W. Moores Me­mo­rial Sta­dium in Har­bour Grace with a 6-3 vic­tory. The game was also high­lighted by the rais­ing of the Herder cham­pi­onship ban­ner. New­comer David Ling had a suc­cess­ful start to his CeeBees ca­reer with six points in two game. Some 700 fans at­tended the game, which is a step in the right di­rec­tion for a club which put out a call for fan sup­port just two weeks be­fore the start of the sea­son. The CeeBees are out of town this weekend, but wel­come for­mer cap­tain Keith De­laney and Herder cham­pi­onship se­ries MVP Ryan De­laney back to Har­bour Grace when the Clarenville Cari­bous come to town on Nov. 15-16.
