Local businesses receive development investments
Recipients of the provincial government business development investments have been announced.
Five companies from Newfoundland have been awarded development investments totalling $42,600. Two are from the Trinity-Conception-Placentia region.
To qualify, the business much be a small-to-mediumsized enterprise.
Grates Cove Studio was presented with funding to assist craft producers to purchase and install new signage for their business.
In Placentia, the Placentia Area Chamber of Commerce has been assisted with funding for a conference and exhib- it at the Placentia Bay Industrial Showcase.
Other recipients include Afinin Labs in St. John’s to assist with attendance at national and international trade shows to market software, Marie’s Knits in Clarenville to assist with attendance to craft shows and Vogue Furriers Ltd. in St. John’s to assist with funding to China for a trade mission.
The Department of Innovation, Business and Rural Development gives grants, investments and loans to businesses that are looking to grow in their industry, and want to take the next step, but can not do so without financial assistance.
