Had enough

The Compass - - OPINION - — Joy French-Coleman writes from Harbour Grace

I’m wondering, is there anyone else out there who is feeling the same as I do and are getting fed up with all this political correctness?

A recent example is the way people think that by saying “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” changes things. Think again, folks.

The Oxford dictionary tells us the origin of the word “holiday” is “holy day.” This is what Christmas Day is for us Christians. So what is the next politically correct thing to say? As for Christians, we are correct in keeping Christ in Christmas. If we’re not going to have this, we may as well go back to the pagan celebration, this time of year, the winter solstice.

We have to stand firm on our beliefs. Remember the song, “Parents, teach your children well.” Food for thought.

Wishing a Merry Christmas from me to all, and as Tiny Tim says, God bless everyone.
