Christmas parade delights in Spaniard’s Bay

The Compass - - THE COMPASS - PHOTOS AND TEXT BY NICHOLASMERCER

The wind swirled and the cold bit on the beach in Spaniard’s Bay on Dec. 15, but that did not deter residents from participating in the Christmas parade. Some dozen floats participated in the annual event, much to the delight of many of the town’s residents. Those who took part braved the minus 8 temperatures in order to entertain those who watched the parade. Floats included athletic groups, community groups and a host of others. The Compass was there and took these images.

This float depicted the nativity scene. Shown here are: front (l-r) — Edwina Brazil, Aliya Sheppard, Jordan Parsons and Alleigha Mahoney; back — Ron Brazil, Rachel Parsons, Sidney Sheppard and Rylan Sheppard.
