The RCMP says it still considers the death of a caucasian man, whose body was found in Placentia on New Year’s Eve, to be suspicious.

Const. Mark Bishop says the RCMP should get the autopsy results back this weekend and is hoping to have an update for the public on Monday.

Placentia Mayor Wayne Power says the community has been assured by the RCMP there is no need to be concerned.

“Any time you have an RCMP major crime unit in your community for a couple of days it does bring a certain air of uncertainty,” he says.

The RCMP says it’s expected the investigation will continue for several more days and no further information will be released at this time.
