Slade sur­prised with Dun­derdale’s res­ig­na­tion

The pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment’s new­est MHA, Lib­eral Sam Slade (Car­bon­ear-Har­bou r G race) , w a s surpr i s e d a t the an­nounce­ment of Pre­mier Kathy Dun­derdale’s res­ig­na­tion Wed­nes­day, Jan. 22.

Slade, who has re­cently been named the op­po­si­tion’s critic to the depart­ment of fish­eries and aqua­cul­ture, said the past few months have been hard on Dun­derdale and the gov­ern­ing Tories due to some neg­a­tive feed­back re­ceived from the pub­lic, but the an­nounce­ment still, “wasn’t re­ally ex­pected.”

“I think Kathy did what she thought was right,” he said in a phone in­ter­view with The Com­pass Jan. 22. “I wish her well in all her en­deav­ours.”
