DAVIS, El­iz­a­beth L. ‘Betty’ — Passed peace­fully away at the Har­bour Lodge Nurs­ing Home, Car­bon­ear on Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 7, 2014, El­iz­a­beth L. ‘Betty’ Davis of Car­bon­ear, age 72 years. Pre­de­ceased by hus­band: Carl, par­ents: James and Edith Paul, brother: Adam Paul. Left to mourn, three daugh­ters: Cindy Pla­toni, New Jersey, USA, Carol Ann (Kerry) Noel and Sherry Car­pen­ter (Howard), both of Car­bon­ear; seven sons: Jeff Dowd, New Jersey, USA, Rick (Lynn), Bris­tol’s Hope, Jamie ( Judy), Car­bon­ear, Randy (Wanda), Spa­niard’s Bay, Todd ( Ja­nis), On­tario, Rod (Michelle), Car­bon­ear and Cory (Lori), On­tario; one step-son: Ge­orge (Karen) Power, On­tario; twenty-one grand­chil­dren; six great-grand­chil­dren; two step­grand­chil­dren; four sis­ters: Min­nie Comptello, Florida, USA, Hazel Sy­mon, New York, USA, Muriel (Beaton) Best, Wes­leyville and Rachel Han­dri­gan, Dark Cove, Gambo; also a large num­ber of other rel­a­tives and friends. Rested at Noel’s Fu­neral Home, Wa­ter Street, Car­bon­ear. Rev. Brian Col­bourne con­ducted the Fu­neral Ser­vice on Tues­day, Fe­bru­ary 11 from Bethany United Church, Car­bon­ear. In­ter­ment took place in Bethany United Ceme­tery, Car­bon­ear. Do­na­tions in Betty’s mem­ory may be made to the Alzheimer So­ci­ety of NL or a char­ity of one’s choice.
