Two males ar­rested in South River arm rob­bery

The Trin­ity Con­cep­tion RCMP have made a pair of ar­rests in con­nec­tion with an armed rob­bery at a South River busi­ness on May 16.

Po­lice ap­pre­hended two males, ages 15 and 16, on charges of rob­bery, pos­ses­sion of a weapon for a dan­ger­ous pur­pose and be­ing dis­guised with the in­tent to com­mit an of­fence.

The two ap­peared in provin­cial court in Har­bour Grace on May 22.

Shortly af­ter 11 p.m. on May 16, it’s al­leged the two males en­tered Mar­shall’s Fish Mar­ket wear­ing masks and bran­dish­ing knives. The pair de­manded cash and cig­a­rettes from the clerk. There were no in­juries in the in­ci­dent.

Due to the age of the young per­sons and where the mat­ter is be­fore the court, po­lice will not be re­leas­ing any fur­ther in­for­ma­tion.
