RODGERS, Capt. Paul — Passed sud­denly away at the Health Sci­ences Cen­tre, St. John’s on Mon­day, June 23, 2014, Capt. Paul Rodgers of Car­bon­ear, age 64 years. Pre­de­ceased by par­ents: Maxwell and He­len Grace; sis­ter: Sophie; broth­ers: David and Lin­dow; mother-in-law: He­len Sam­son. Left to mourn, wife: Kay; two sons: Chris (Tammy) and PJ ( Janice), both of Car­bon­ear; four grand­chil­dren: Mad­di­son, Katie, Rachel and Max; fa­ther-in­law: Ed­ward Sam­son, St. John’s; four broth­ers-in-law: Clarence (Sophie, de­ceased) Sweet­land, New Brunswick, Ed­ward (Bev­er­ley) Sam­son, Con­cep­tion Bay South, Jerry Sam­son, Car­bon­ear and David Sam­son (Shirley), Heart’s Con­tent; four sis­ters-in-law: Betty Pike (Will), Car­bon­ear, Martha Sam­son, St. John’s, Au­drey (Derek) Pitcher, Heart’s Con­tent and Emily Sam­son, Toronto, ON; also a large num­ber of other rel­a­tives and friends. Rested at Noel’s Fu­neral Home, Wa­ter Street, Car­bon­ear. Rev. Linda Pike con­ducted the Fu­neral ser­vice on Fri­day, June 27 from Bethany United Church, Car­bon­ear. In­ter­ment took place in the In­ter­faith Ceme­tery, Car­bon­ear. Do­na­tions in his mem­ory may be made to the Cana­dian Cancer So­ci­ety.
