Car­bon­ear man sen­tenced for co­caine pos­ses­sion

A Car­bon­ear man re­ceived 15days in jail af­ter a Bay Roberts traf­fic stop on June 1.

Christ­pher King, 34, will serve his time on the week­ends af­ter plead­ing guilty to the pos­ses­sion of co­caine. He also re­ceived nine months pro­ba­tion.

Trin­ity Con­cep­tion RCMP stopped King, who was driv­ing a 2002 Nis­san Al­tima, just af­ter 2 a.m. on the morn­ing of June 1 for vi­o­lat­ing the Mo­tor Ve­hi­cle Act along Route 70 in the com­mu­nity.

Dur­ing the stop, of­fi­cers seized a quan­tity of co­caine and the driver was ar­rested.

King sti l l faces out­stand­ing charges from a Jan­uary 2014 ar­rest when he was picked up by po­lice with 100 Oxy­codone pills, some Per­co­cets, four grams of cannabis resin (hash) and 27 grams of co­caine.
