Writer calls for more public bathrooms in Brigus

The Compass - - OPINION - — Jim Hiscock writes from Brigus

Well, don’t come to Brigus if you want to use the bathroom.

The town has supplied signs to direct people to the Fire Hall when the Blueberry Festival is on, and then we don’t know where to go unless you want to pay to get on the grounds.

I think the council should consider the visitors to Brigus and erect or consider renting portable toilets to place where needed. The beach and the Tunnel should be No. 1 on the list.

We have a constant flow of visitors to this area for picnics and beach play. The council wants to offer these visitors a sign to direct you to the nearest restroom .

So, get ready to pack up whatever you and your family are enjoying and take the person, along with the rest, to the restrooms, except for the Blueberry Festival, you will have to pay then.

The cost of this should not be considered, but it is almost a health risk, as a lot of people now use the small woods by the beach. Not good.

Even Clarke’s Beach, Cupids, etc. offer portable toilets, so what’s wrong with our council?

Do they not ever go to the beach and see people enjoying these grounds? But sorry if you need to use the bathroom. Follow the signs.

Come on council, you were elected to consider all improvements to our town and visitors. A portable toilet on the beach would be useful to all residents and visitors, and not have them pack up to go to the toilet.

The cost of this should not be considered, but it is almost a health risk, as a lot of people now use the small woods by the beach. Not good.

Don’t wait for your next meeting but talk to your members now.

They are needed now, not when the summer is over.

I can’t believe the council have no need to use the bathroom when out walking or visiting other towns.

Come one Council, smarten up!
