— It was the first of three final performances for Carbonear Collegiate’s school choir at the Carbonear Collegiate prom. The opportunity to let loose and give the performance of a lifetime was here, and graduate Mike White of Victoria took full advantage of it. The soloist became a hit with the audience of students, teachers and family members when he showed his boss side during the Bruce Springsteen song “No Surrender.” Hoots and hollers could be heard throughout the gymnasium as Mike rocked out to the 30-year-old hit song. The rest of the choir, including fellow soloists Cody Hibbs and Adam Slade, joined in to a memorable conclusion to a fitting musical performance for a graduation. Other performances included “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, with soloist Alyssa Broomfield, accompanied by musicians Gregory Butt, Devin Neil and Lukas Kelloway, and “You’ve Got A Friend” by Carole King, with soloist Erin Jones.
