Brake’s Heating drop three straight in slo-pitch action
East Coast Concrete took the first of two games in Carbonear Slo-Pitch Softball League action at the Carbonear Recreation Complex on July 14, narrowly defeated Brake’s Heating 10-7.
Leading the way for the victors was Blair Parsons, who collected three hits. Karl Oates, Chad Parsons and Ryan Dean delivered tow hits apiece for East Coast.
Brake’s were paced at the plate by Roy Flight with two hits.
Tom Harris had the victory on the rubber, while Sam White took the loss.
In the second game of the evening, Brake’s again came up short. This time, the team dropped a 15-11 decision to Butt’s Esso.
Gord King belted a homerun and collected two other hits to lead the way for Butt’s. Stacey Moriarity and Jason Power also had three hits apiece in the win, while Paul O’Leary had two hits.
Tim Brake and Kevin Penney were the brightspots at the plate for Brake’s with two hits each.
Scott Cleary tossed the win, while
Sam White suffered the defeat.

Phil Hurley lead the way at the plate of Butt’s in their shutout victory with two hits.
For East Coast, Blair Parsons and Mat Davis had two hits apiece.

In this high-scoring affair, East Coast were led by Karl Oates, Blair Parsons and Bradley Harris with three hits apiece. Ryan Dean and Jeff Parsons contributed two hits apiece in the win.
Tyson Crant and Barry Short collected three hits apiece in the defeat, while Kevin Penney, Sam White and Jeff King had two hits each for Brake’s.
Dennis King toed the rubber for the win, while Sam White suffered the loss.
