MANAGEMENT APPOINTMENT NOTICE

AMA CEO Harvey Brenton is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Newhook to the newly instituted position of General Manager. Mr. Newhook joined AMA in February 2011 as Manager, Business Development and Marketing where he worked closely with the CEO to strengthen AMA’s strategic focus and build on Argentia’s portfolio of active and prospective business development projects. Mr. Brenton states, “Chris has proven his value as member of our team through effectively marketing the Port and leading successful negotiations with players in mining, marine, oil & gas and other sectors that are helping Argentia move forward into a new era of growth. I will be counting on Chris in this new role, to support our organization as we grow, and ensure these developments translate into meaningful benefits for Argentia’s many stakeholders”. As General Manager, Mr. Newhook will report to the CEO and hold responsibility for all organizational divisions including port and property management, business development, marketing and stakeholder engagement, and financial and human resource management. Argentia Management Authority Inc. (AMA) is a private not-for-profit corporation operating within the municipality of Placentia with a mandate to provide effective stewardship of the seaport and adjacent industrial property at Argentia to enhance the region’s economic vitality and quality of life. AMA owns and operates the Port of Argentia through its subsidiary, Argentia Port Corporation (APC). As well, AMA owns and manages some 1,200 hectares of developed industrial property, and 46,000 square metres of commercial building space. AMA’s strategic vision is for Argentia to be the premier heavy industrial seaport in Newfoundland & Labrador.
