• Becky and Andrea both passed away at home. Andrea was seven, and Becky was eight; • A wish costs ap­prox­i­mately $10,000, so the event has/will help ap­prox­i­mately 28 chil­dren get their wish;

• Andrea loved to read and Becky was very en­er­getic, An­nette of­ten imag­ines what they would have been like to­day; • Sis­ter Leah, who is now 14, helped out the girls ev­ery day when she was only seven years old; • 2014 marked seven years for the golf tour­na­ment at Pitcher’s Pond in Whiteway; • A fam­ily mem­ber col­lected some $32,000 in pledges and do­na­tions this year alone; • A five-minute video of re­flec­tion was shown at the rec cen­tre dur­ing the funfest fes­tiv­i­ties to show the crowd some of Andrea and Becky’s wish high­lights and pho­tos of pre­vi­ous years’ golf fundrais­ers; • Some 100 peo­ple took part in the golf, while over 200 took part in the fes­tiv­i­ties af­ter­wards; • Tyler Ge­orge, Becky and Andrea’s 11-year-old cousin from Whiteway, has sold tick­ets at the event for sev­eral years and, one year, do­nated a bag of pen­nies to Chil­dren’s Wish. • All funds raised are de­liv­ered on Aug. 24, the girls’ birth­day; • Next year the event will take place on Aug. 15; • Quotes from mom, An­nette — This year, when (the fundraiser) was over, I was still wait­ing for it to start; We’re not here to beat last year’s to­tal. If we raise $10,000 or $100,000, it’s all for the Chil­dren’s Wish Foun­da­tion; Peo­ple al­ready have cab­ins booked for next year’s event.
