Getting their kicks in CBN
Soccer fields in Bay Roberts and Carbonear were alive with activity over the weekend (Aug. 14-17). The CBN Lightning soccer club welcomed 14 under-14 soccer clubs to the region for the under-14 provincial mega tournament. There were three local entries — CBN, Lightning Yellow and Lightning White — who competed with some of the best players in their age group in the province. The tournament was a great showcase for the beautiful game in the area and was an eco- nomic boon for the region. In the end, Lightning Yellow (D division) and White (E division) captured silver medals in their respective divisions-The Compass presents these shots from the event.
