Fam­ily re­source cen­tre

The Step­ping Stones Fam­ily Re­source Cen­tre in Pla­cen­tia and St. Bride’s will be hold­ing morn­ing and af­ter­noon ses­sions. On Oct. 29, chil­dren are asked to wear their Hal­loween cos­tumes. Pla­cen­tia’s par­ent Hal­loween cel­e­bra­tion is Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. St. Bride’s will host a par­ent cel­e­bra­tion Oct. 29. For more on pro­grams and events, call 227-1010.

Quar­terly meet­ing

The Royal Cana­dian Le­gion in Bay Roberts will be hav­ing its quar­terly gen­eral mem­bers meet­ing on Wed­nes­day, Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m. All mem­bers wel­come and full dress re­quired if pos­si­ble.

Poppy fund cam­paign

Royal Cana­dian Le­gion in Bay Roberts will be host­ing the an­nual Poppy Fund cam­paign on Thurs­day, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. All mem­bers wel­come.

Haunted House

The Town of Pla­cen­tia will host a haunted house at the Pla­cen­tia Bay Cul­tural Arts Cen­tre Fri­day, Oct. 31 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Chil­dren un­der 12 must be ac­com­pa­nied by an adult.

Craft fair

Christ­mas Wishes craft fair in aid of Cat Con­cerns Inc. will be held on Satur­day, Nov. 1, at the Lion’s Club in Bay Roberts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hal­loween dance

There will be a Hal­loween Dance on Nov. 1, at the Royal Cana­dian Le­gion Car­bon­ear start­ing at 10 p.m. with mu­sic by Mid­night Blue. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for the best cos­tume. For more, call 596-3691.

Ghost telling work­shop

The Car­bon­ear Pub­lic Li­brary will host au­thor Charis Cot­ter Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. for a ghost story telling work­shop. Open to Grades 5 to 8 (age nine to 14). For more, call 596-3382.

Hal­loween dance

Royal Cana­dian Le­gion Branch 32 in Bay Roberts will be host­ing a Hal­loween dance on Satur­day Nov. 1, start­ing at 9:30 p.m. All mem­bers and pub­lic wel­comed.

Craft and bake sale

The Sea­side Se­niors Club of Hant’s Har­bour will be hav­ing a sale of baked goods, craft/knit­ted items and a flea mar­ket Thurs­day, Nov. 6

from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Din­ner and Dance

The Royal Cana­dian Le­gion in Bay Roberts will hold a din­ner and dance for Re­mem­brance Day Satur­day, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. All vet­er­ans are in­vited com­pli­men­tary. For more, call 786-2981.

Re­mem­brance Day pa­rade

Any Mem­ber of the Royal Cana­dian Le­gion Car­bon­ear that would like to be a part of the Re­mem­brance Day Pa­rade in Sal­mon Cove on Nov 9 are asked to be at the Car­bon­ear Branch by 1:15 p.m. to be bused to Sal­mon Cove at 1:30 p.m. For more call 596-3691

Fall sale

St. Peter’s church in Har­bour Grace South will host its anual craft sale and baked goods event Tues­day, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. A sup­per will take place at 5 p.m.

Re­mem­brance Day pa­rade

For all mem­bers of the Royal Cana­dian Le­gion Car­bon­ear that wish to be a part of the Re­mem­brance Day Pa­rade on Novem­ber 11 are asked to be at our Branch by 10:10 a.m. The Pa­rade will start at 10:30 a.m. led by the Royal New­found­land Reg­i­ment Band. Mu­seum and gallery

The off-sea­son sched­ule for the Road To Yes­ter­day Mu­seum and Christo­pher Pratt Gallery is now in ef­fect. Wed­nes­day af­ter­noons 2-4 p.m. un­til fur­ther no­tice.

Mem­ber­ship drive

Look­ing for ad­ven­ture and fun? Be­come an Army Cadet. 2558 Pla­cen­tia Army Cadets is ac­cept­ing new mem­bers. Open to youth age 1218. No reg­is­tra­tion fee. Meet­ings are 6:30 p.m., Thurs­days at St. Anne’s Academy, Dunville.
