Family resource centre
The Stepping Stones Family Resource Centre in Placentia and St. Bride’s will be holding morning and afternoon sessions. On Oct. 29, children are asked to wear their Halloween costumes. Placentia’s parent Halloween celebration is Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. St. Bride’s will host a parent celebration Oct. 29. For more on programs and events, call 227-1010.
The Royal Canadian Legion in Bay Roberts will be having its quarterly general members meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m. All members welcome and full dress required if possible.
Poppy fund campaign
Royal Canadian Legion in Bay Roberts will be hosting the annual Poppy Fund campaign on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. All members welcome.
The Town of Placentia will host a haunted house at the Placentia Bay Cultural Arts Centre Friday, Oct. 31 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Christmas Wishes craft fair in aid of Cat Concerns Inc. will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Lion’s Club in Bay Roberts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be a Halloween Dance on Nov. 1, at the Royal Canadian Legion Carbonear starting at 10 p.m. with music by Midnight Blue. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for the best costume. For more, call 596-3691.
Ghost telling workshop
The Carbonear Public Library will host author Charis Cotter Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. for a ghost story telling workshop. Open to Grades 5 to 8 (age nine to 14). For more, call 596-3382.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 32 in Bay Roberts will be hosting a Halloween dance on Saturday Nov. 1, starting at 9:30 p.m. All members and public welcomed.
Craft and bake sale
The Seaside Seniors Club of Hant’s Harbour will be having a sale of baked goods, craft/knitted items and a flea market Thursday, Nov. 6
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dinner and Dance
The Royal Canadian Legion in Bay Roberts will hold a dinner and dance for Remembrance Day Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. All veterans are invited complimentary. For more, call 786-2981.
Remembrance Day parade
Any Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Carbonear that would like to be a part of the Remembrance Day Parade in Salmon Cove on Nov 9 are asked to be at the Carbonear Branch by 1:15 p.m. to be bused to Salmon Cove at 1:30 p.m. For more call 596-3691
St. Peter’s church in Harbour Grace South will host its anual craft sale and baked goods event Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. A supper will take place at 5 p.m.
Remembrance Day parade
For all members of the Royal Canadian Legion Carbonear that wish to be a part of the Remembrance Day Parade on November 11 are asked to be at our Branch by 10:10 a.m. The Parade will start at 10:30 a.m. led by the Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band. Museum and gallery
The off-season schedule for the Road To Yesterday Museum and Christopher Pratt Gallery is now in effect. Wednesday afternoons 2-4 p.m. until further notice.
