Clarke’s wins in dou­ble-over­time thriller in CBN men’s bas­ket­ball

The Con­cep­tion Bay North Men’s Bas­ket­ball League had its first over­time thriller of the sea­son at Car­bon­ear Academy on Nov. 30.

Clarke’s Fur­ni­ture and Ju­bilee Es­tates squared off in a barn­burner that went to dou­ble over­time.

When the dust had set­tled, Clarke’s pulled out the 77-75 vic­tory over their op­po­nents.

Mike Mur­rin paced the of­fence for the vic­tors with 23 points while Brad Dixon chipped in 18 points.

Lead­ing the way for Ju­bilee was Jor­dan Pynn with 23 points. Justin For­ward added 19 for the los­ing squad.

Ear­lier in the evening, Ma­cho Pizza picked up its sec­ond win of the sea­son with 94-88 de­feat of McNally’s.

Nick Clarke had 28 points to lead the way for Ma­cho, while Matthew Coombs had 21.

Shane Lam­bert con­trib­uted 30 points in a los­ing ef­fort for McNally’s and Tyler Coombs had 25.

Nov. 23

• Ma­cho Pizza 56, Clarke’s Fur­ni­ture 51 For Ma­cho, Bradley Yet­man had 27 points, while Sam­son Karam con­trib­uted 14 in the win­ning ef­fort.

Mean­while, Brad Dixon had 21 for Clarke’s. Mike Mur­rin chipped in with 12 for the losers. • Ju­bilee Es­tates 98, McNally’s 72 Justin For­ward ex­ploded for 31 points to pace the Ju­bilee of­fense, while John Brown had 29.

For McNally’s, Shane Lam­bert had 15, while Tyler Coombs knocked down 15.

Nov. 20

• McNally’s 75, Clarke’s Fur­ni­ture 60 In vic­tory, Shane Lam­bert had 32 points and Kenny Curlew had 24 for McNally’s.

For Clarke’s, Lyn­don Pike had 22 points, while Brad Dixon chipped in 20. • Ju­bilee Es­tates 91, Ma­cho Pizza 52 The vic­tors were led by Bran­don Pynn and Brad Doyle, who each had 21 points for Ju­bilee.

Matthew Coombs (14) and Bran­don Crocker (10) were the top scor­ers for Ma­cho.

SEC­TIONAL SHOW­DOWN — The Con­cep­tion Bay North Skat­ing Club sent three skaters re­cently to The 2015 SCNL Sec­tional Cham­pi­onships, held at The Glacier in Mount Pearl Nov. 7-8.
