An animal hospital’s gift of compassion

The Compass - - OPINION -

Compassion comes to mind when I think about all of the staff at Baccalieu Trail Animal Hospital in Bay Roberts. A second home where your pet’s health always comes first and where they certainly are “a friend to your best friend.”

Baccalieu Trail Animal Hospital opened in June 1997 and now has a staff of 25 people. It is managed by owners, Dr. Daniel Quinlan and Dr. Lynn Clarke, who are also husband and wife. They both have dedicated their lives to taking care of animals in need. They are the only animal hospital in this area. Therefore they are very busy, so for them to take the time to call and check on my dog meant the world to me. They also have a 24-hour emergency service so you know they are there when you need them.

I have used their services for 15 years and made many visits there, and on every occasion my dog, Holly, has been given the best possible care and I have been treated with the utmost respect.

Pets are precious and they cannot talk or take care of themselves, so they depend on us to take care of them. It was reassuring to know that all the staff were a major part of my pet’s well-being. I am sure many pet owners feel as I do and appreciate everything the staff has done for their pets.

It is very difficult for me to express with words how grateful I am to everyone and especially Dr. Clarke for taking such excellent care of Holly. I know you did what was best for her and that you treated her with compassion the way she deserved to be treated. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you did for Holly. You treated her like she was your own family, and that was what she was to me. You always listened to my concerns and you valued my opinions. You have put your heart and soul into you life’s pleasure and it definitely shows in your treatment of others. You are so dedicated and you called me at night to see if Holly was OK. I believe that goes way beyond the call of duty. I will be forever grateful to you for all you have done. You have made the Baccalieu Trail Animal Hospital a place that is much more than a business. You have made it a home for animals where there is friendship, hope and serenity. Dr. Clarke, you truly are an angel!

While concluding this story, my dog Holly was surrounded by angels and placed in God’s hands. Holly, you were such an affectionate and compassionate pet and a big part of our family and you will be forever loved and forever missed.

Merry Christmas Holly and all The Staff at The Baccalieu Trail Animal Hospital!
