Old time country music jam
The Whitbourne Lions Club is hosting its monthly Sunday afternoon of fun and fabulous old time country music on Jan. 4 at the Lions Club in Whitbourne. The doors open at 1 p.m. and the excitement starts at 2 p.m. Join the other performers at the open mic or bring your instrument and play along or just tap your feet to that great old country beat. Have a wonderful afternoon of fun and musical memories at the Whitbourne Old Time Country Music Hoedown. Kick off the new year with music and friends at the Whitbourne Open Mic Show.

Immaculate Conception church research committee
The Diocese of Grand Falls and the Parish Council of Immaculate Conception Parish Harbour Grace are looking for volunteers interested in uncovering new and creative potential uses for Immaculate Conception Church. The diocese and the Parish Council came to the difficult decision to close the historic church, but hope a new use or purpose respecting the sacred character of the church can be found.
