Western racks up a three-win week

Western Petroleum had a great night at the ball park on June 17.

The team brought home both games it played at the Car­bon­ear Recre­ation Com­plex as a part of the Car­boe­nar Slo Pitch Soft­ball League.

In the first game, Western nar­rowly de­feated Butt’s Esso 7-6. Trevor Par­sons was the top man at the plate for the win­ner. He belted out three hits and was helped out by Roy Flight, Sam White and Shan­non Chafe, who each had a pair of hits.

For Butt’s, Stacey Mo­ri­ar­ity, Jim King and Gord King knocked out a pair of hits each.

White took the win, while Mo­ri­ar­ity was sad­dled with the loss.

In the sec­ond game Western thumped East Coast Con­crete 16-5.

For Western, Mat Davis, Nick Ros­siter, Scott Cleary and Jeff King had three hits each. Mean­while, Flight, Kenny Hunt and Keith Ped­dle had a pair of hits for the win­ners.

Karl Oats, Jamie March, Ver­non Lay­den and Ryan Dean led the way for Butt’s.

White once again picked up the win, while Dennis King took the loss. ° East Coat Con­crete 10, Butt’s Esso 4 Blair Par­sons belted out three hits for East Coast, while Jamie March, Jeff Par­sons, Dennis King, Wil­son Snow, Steve Burke and Greg Slade helped out with two hits.

For Butt’s, Paul O’Leary had a three hit game, while Justin and Chris Par­sons had two hits.

Dennis King took the win and Ger­ard Grif­fin suf­fered the loss. ° Western Petroleum 7, Butt’s Esso 4 Lead­ing the way for Western was Dan Keats with four hits. Roy Flight had three hits, while Mat Davis and Sam White knocked out a pair.

Paul O’Leary and Stacey Mo­ri­ar­ity had three hits apiece for Butt’s, while Chris Par­sons and Jody Doyle had two hits.

Sam White took the win, while Stacey Mo­ri­ar­ity reg­is­tered the loss.
